We are delighted to welcome Dr Marina Milosheva as the new BAMSA researcher working with Prof Samantha Punch as part of the Bridge: A MindSport for All research team. She will be working for three years on the project: Youth, Bridge and Mindsport Education. This international study is working with seven countries to explore the opportunities for developing mindsport education (in particular the card game bridge) in schools and across generations.

Marina has recently completely a PhD at Edinburgh Napier University on “Career information literacy and the decision-making behaviours of young people.” With a background in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies, her expertise lies within the sociology of computing and digital learning. During her PhD she worked in close collaboration with Skills Development Scotland generating knowledge of young people’s socially and digitally mediated information seeking.

In this BAMSA post-doctoral role, she will collaborate with colleagues in Education, Sociology and Sport at the University of Stirling. She will conduct fieldwork with children, school teachers and bridge stakeholders in Scotland, the USA, Norway and England. Marina will also manage a team of community researchers carrying out bridge-related work in Denmark, The Netherlands and Iceland. BAMSA warmly welcomes Marina to the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Bridge: A MindSport for All team.
