Bridge at the Top: Behind the Screens will be launched at the BAMSA conference on 28 June. The book is a landmark in a study of leading players begun by Professor Samantha Punch in 2013.
The book explores the experiences of elite bridge players competing on the international tournament circuit. In one-to-one interviews, a selection of the world’s greatest players give their views of the highs and lows of top-level bridge. The pages are filled with anecdotes and insights illustrating the personal, social and human aspects of the game.
Each chapter of the book is an interview with a different player from the USA or Europe. Among the interviewees are Jill Meyers (pictured), Sabine Auken, Bob Hamman, Zia Mahmood (pictured), Marion Michielson, Tony Forrester, Andrew Robson and the late Justin Lall.
Author and interviewer Samantha Punch, publisher Ray Lee and bridge world champions Chip Martell and Jill Levin will be special guests at the book launch. The launch will follow the keynote address by Professor Martin Seligman.
The book is published by Master Point Press (2021) and is available now from your favourite bookseller. The e-book is available from eBooksBridge: Bridge at the Top ($17.99 USD).
