The 2026 Scottish Bridge Youth Camp at the University of Stirling in collaboration with BAMSA was a roaring success with thirty-six fun loving individuals representing the future of bridge in Scotland.
Although the weather attempted to dampen everyone’s enthusiasm on day 1, I am delighted to say that it was not successful. With expert teachers such as Douglas Wright from 3countiesbridge and World Youth Champion Milan Macura, on hand to motivate and coach the attendees, it was no surprise that the standard of bridge was excellent.
Most exciting of all was the camaraderie of the kids on display and I have no doubt that lasting friendships were formed. The university campus provided ideal terrain for an orienteering session and a chance to compete away from the bridge table.
I would like to warmly thank the plethora of volunteers who gave their energy and time to making the bridge camp a huge success. Watch this space for details for the summer camp in 2027. Until then, keep enjoying the wonderful game that is bridge and continue reaping all the rewards it affords.
Join us on Sunday 13 September for an open day of youth bridge in Edinburgh. Bring your siblings, friends and parents to try out Petit Bridge or Mini Bridge, and for those more experienced, play in a 12 board duplicate. More info and to register click here.
